Rules

The current rules of UWW will govern the event and the competition (except bracketing procedures). This event will use the new UWW rules. Tech falls will be a difference of 10 points for freestyle and 8 points for Greco. Video Review will be conducted for all matches.

PLEASE NOTE: Wrestlers from the same club must use the same club name or abbreviation during registration in order to insure proper calculation of team points. There will be a blind computer draw after the initial weigh-in. A standard, seeded, double-elimination line bracket, with consolation wrestle-backs to 3rd, 5th, and 7th place will be used.THERE WILL BE NO CLUB SEPARATION. 

SENIOR MEN'S FREESTYLE

- There is no qualification tournament for the Men's Freestyle Championships.
- The Senior Nationals will be line bracket, double-elimination; wrestle back to 7th place.
- The selection and seeding committee, as established by the Federation of Clubs, will seed four (4) to eight (8) individuals in each weight category.
- The seeded athletes will be separated and placed into the appropriate bracketed slots. All other athletes will be randomly drawn into the remaining available slots. If there are any byes, they will be placed evenly and randomly in the brackets.

SENIOR WOMEN'S FREESTYLE

- There is no qualification tournament for the Women's Freestyle Championships.
- The Senior Nationals will be line bracket, double-elimination; wrestle back to 7th place.
- The seeding committee, as established by the Federation of Clubs, will seed individuals in each weight category. The seeded athletes will be separated and placed into the appropriate bracket slots.
- All other athletes will be randomly drawn into the remaining available slots. If there are any byes, they will be placed evenly and randomly in the brackets.

SENIOR MEN'S GRECO-ROMAN

- There is no qualification tournament for the Greco-Roman Championships.
- The Senior Nationals will be line bracket, double-elimination; wrestle back to 7th place.
- The seeding committee, as established by the Federation of Clubs, will seed individuals in each weight category. The seeded athletes will be separated and placed into the appropriate bracket slots.
- All other athletes will be randomly drawn into the remaining available slots. If there are any byes, they will be placed evenly and randomly in the brackets.

U20 (UWW Junior) MEN'S NATIONALS: GRECO-ROMAN & FREESTYLE

- There is no qualification tournament for the Greco-Roman or Freestyle Championships.
- The U20 Nationals will be line bracket, double-elimination; wrestle back to 7th place.
- The seeding committee, as established by the National, will seed individuals in each weight category. The seeded athletes will be separated and placed into the appropriate bracket slots.

- Separation Criteria will be used in conjuction with the Seeding Commitee to separate the bracket

• Level 1: World Team Medalist
• Level 2: Senior Nationals Champion (IN style)
• Level 3: Senior Nationals 2nd -8th (IN style)
• Level 4: U23 Champion (IN style)
• Level 5: U23 Placer 2nd-8th (IN style)
• Level 6: UWW Junior Champion (IN style)
• Level 7: UWW Junior Placer 2nd -8th (IN style)
• Level 8: UWW Junior Pan Am Championships Medalist (IN style)
• Level 9: Fargo Champion & UWW Cadet Champion (IN style)
• Level 10: Fargo Placer 2nd -8th & UWW Cadet Placer 2nd -8th (IN style)
• Level 11: Out of style Champion or Placer

- All other athletes will be randomly drawn into the remaining available slots. If there are any byes, they will be placed evenly and randomly in the brackets

U17 (UWW Cadet) MEN'S WTT: GRECO-ROMAN & FREESTYLE

- There is no qualification tournament for the Greco-Roman or Freestyle Championships.
- The U20 Nationals will be line bracket, double-elimination; wrestle back to 7th place.
- Separation Criteria will be used to separate the bracket

• Level 1: Previous UWW Cadet World Medalist
• Level 2: Previous UWW Cadet/Fargo Finalist - (IN Style)
• Level 3: Previous UWW Cadet Pan Am Medalist (IN style)
• Level 4: Previous U15 Pan Am Medalist or U15 World Medalist (IN Style)
• Level 5: Previous UWW Cadet/Fargo 3rd-8th (IN style)
• Level 6: Previous UWW Cadet/Fargo 1st-3rd (OUT of Style, not including folkstyle)
• Level 7: Separation by state

- All other athletes will be randomly drawn into the remaining available slots. If there are any byes, they will be placed evenly and randomly in the brackets

U15 NATIONALS: GRECO-ROMAN & FREESTYLE

- There is no qualification tournament for the Greco-Roman or Freestyle Championships.
- The U20 Nationals will be line bracket, double-elimination; wrestle back to 7th place

- Separation Criteria will be used to separate the bracket

• Level 1: Previous U15 Pan Am Medalist or U15 World Medalist (IN Style)
• Level 2: Previous U15/14U and above National Champion (IN Style)
• Level 3: Previous U15/14U and above National 2nd - 8th (IN Style)
• Level 4: Previous U15/14U and above National 1st - 3rd (OUT of style, not including folkstyle)
• Level 5: Separation by state
  UWW U15 will wrestle two 2-minute periods as per UWW. 

UWW Futures: Wrestlers from the same state will be separated. This division will employ double-elimination line bracketing with wrestle-backs to third place.
