USA Wrestling Age-Level World Team Trials and National Championships shall be limited to U.S. citizens. 

 

National Team - Team Selection Criteria 

 

Senior Nationals (born 2004 or before): Qualifying event for the 2022 Senior World Team Trials Challenge tournament and Final X.

 

U20 Nationals (2002-2005): Qualifying event for the 2022 U20 World Team Trials on June 3-5th in Geneva, OH. 

U17 WTT (2005-2007): Champions in both Freestyle & Greco-Roman will represent Team USA at the World Championships on July 25-31, 2022 in Rome, Italy. This event will also be a qualifier for the Pan-American Championships on June 24-26, 2022 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
 

U15 Nationals (2007-2009): Qualifying event for the 2022 U15 Final Pan American Team Trials location and date TBD.  This event will be sometime in August 2022.  Top eight (8) athletes in either style will qualify for the Final Pan American Trials. The U15 Final Pan American Team Trials champion in both Freestyle & Greco-Roman will represent Team USA at the UWW U15 Pan-American Championships in Rio Negro, Columbia on Nov. 4-6, 2022.

 

Girls High School National Recruiting Showcase (born 9/1/2002 & After, plus enrolled in 9th-12th grade): Athletes must be HS State Champions or Place top six (6) at one of the five (5) Qualifying events.

Automatic Qualifiers

  • All High School State Champions (any year)
  • All High School State Placers (2022 season)
  • National Prep Champions (any year)
  • Placer at NHSCA Virginia Beach High School Nationals (any year)



UWW Futures Nationals (2010-2012): This event is open to any athlete born in 2010-2012.The top-3 place winners for this event will earn custom USA Wrestling Stop Sign. Medals will be awarded to the 4th through 8th-place winners in both the Men`s Freestyle and Greco-Roman Divisions. 

 
Masters Nationals (1947-1997): Athletes born 1945-1995 may compete in the 2022 Masters Nationals. Attractive awards will be presented to the top-3 place winners in each style, in each weight class. Champions will earn the coveted USAW Stop Sign! 

*Medical certificate is required to compete in Master’s C, D, E, & F and must be turned in during weigh-ins. It must be filled out 90 days prior to competition

ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP

All athletes who meet age-group requirements and are current members of USA Wrestling are eligible to participate. Wrestlers must enter their USA Wrestling Membership number when they register online. Wrestlers that do not have valid USA Wrestling Membership numbers will not be allowed to register.

WRESTLING LEADER MEMBERSHIP

All coaches that wish to gain access to the competition floor to coach athletes must have a current USA Wrestling Leader Membership Card. All USA Wrestling Leader Membership Cards MUST be attained prior to the event, due to mandatory background checking.
