How do I qualify for Open State?

  1. Place top six (6) at any of the five Ironman Series Events

    1. Panhandle Nationals, West Region

    2. Edge of Texas Nationals, Far West Region

    3. Texas Nationals, South Region

    4. Heart of Texas Nationals, Central Region

    5. Lone Star Nationals, North Region

  2. Place top two (2) at your region’s last chance qualifier

Does Stockyard Stampede count as a qualifier for the state tournament? NO

Can I attend any of the Ironman Series events to qualify for Open State?  YES.  We encourage you to attend as many ironman events as you can.  Wrestlers of all ages and abilities benefit from attending Ironman Series events and challenging themselves against competitors that they may not get to see at their local events.  Each Ironman Series tournament offers its own custom awards.  Additional awards are presented to wrestlers that attend multiple Ironman events in the same season.  

I placed 7th at an Ironman but one of the top six placers was from another State (;not Texas).  Does my placement qualify me for the state open tournament?  NO

Can I attend any of the last chance qualifier tournaments to qualify for Open State?  NO, you are required to attend the last chance qualifier in your region as determined by your home address.

I already qualified for Open State, can I wrestle in the last chance qualifier?  NO
