ALL ATHLETES MUST WEAR A SINGLET ONLY FOR BOTH WEIGHINS & COMPETITION WITH NO MODIFICATIONS FOR ALL REGIONAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS HELD WITHIN THE UNITED STATES.

  • NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCE FOR ANY UWW OR MASTERS DIVISION

For any “USA Wrestling-owned and USA-controlled events,” competitors must wear (i) a Singlet, or seeking (ii) the “Modified Uniform” must approved by USA Wrestling in writing.  However, because UWW rules only allow a wrestler to wear a Singlet in an event governed by UWW’s rules (a “UWW Event”), if a USA Wrestling-owned or USA Wrestling-controlled event qualifies a wrestler to compete in a UWW Event, then a wrestler wearing the Modified Uniform will not be selected to compete in the UWW Event unless the athlete agrees to wear a Singlet at the UWW Event, since he/she would be ineligible to compete under UWW rules.  If this wrestler does not agree to wear the Singlet, then the next-highest-finishing wrestler in the division will be selected to participate in the UWW Event.

  • Please contact Cody Bickley @ cbickley@usawrestling.org

Women’s Singlet Requirement:

For any regional, national, or international competitions held within the United States, female competitors must wear a women’s cut singlet.

Singlets at Regionals & Nationals

At all USA Wrestling regional and national championships (freestyle & Greco-Roman):

Male competitors must wear a high-cut singlet. Low-cut singlets and 2 piece uniforms shall not be allowed.

Female competitors must wear a women/girls cut singlet. Low-cut singlets and 2 piece uniforms shall not be allowed.

Predominantly red or predominantly blue singlets are allowed, as well as singlets mimicking the UWW color scheme. If a singlet is mimicking the UWW color scheme, the following criteria must be met:

The dominant color of blue singlets shall be comprised of one of the following: black, blue, green, grey, purple or silver.

The dominant color of red singlets shall be comprised of one of the following: white, orange, pink, red, yellow, brown or gold.

All state singlets shall have a total of three (3) markings consisting of:

  • Two 7 cm bands, one on each leg, shall be positioned across the bottom edge of the leg. For clear distinction, the marking shall cover the circumference of the leg.
  • One 7 cm band positioned on the backside of the upper torso. The band shall be exclusively placed on the back half of the singlet (not visible on the front half).
  • The three markings must remain untouched from any graphic, logo or third party identification.

The red markings shall be Pantone 2347C and blue markings shall be Pantone 299C.
