National Team - Team Selection Criteria 

U15 Pan American Championship Selection

U15 Athletes with the highest combined Greco-Roman and Freestyle point values will qualify to compete at the U15 Pan American Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala, from May 22-25, 2025.

Important Note: Given the tight timeframe between the U15 Nationals and the Pan American Championships, it is crucial to obtain a valid US passport before the Nationals.

Nationality/Passport requirements:

• The World Team Trials process is open to all U.S. citizens eligible to represent the United States of America at the World Championships as governed by United World Wrestling (UWW) and USA Wrestling (USAW) rules.
• Athlete must be a United States citizen; and have completed USA sporting nationality with UWW prior to the athlete's World Team and Pan Am Games Tryout event.

• All High School State Champions (any year)
• 2025 High School State Placers
• National Prep Champions (any year)
• Placer at NHSCA Virginia Beach High School Nationals (any year)
• 2024/2025 USA Wrestling National All-American status Place 1st-8th: (Preseason Nationals, Boys and Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase, Women’s Freestyle Nationals, Girls and Boys Folkstyle Nationals, and 16u/ Junior Nationals)  
• 2023/2024/2025 U15 and U17 National Placer   (Must be currently enrolled in High School) 

*Girls High School athletes who are entered in the showcase but are NOT PRE-QUALIFIED will be removed from the tournament without refund.

Master's Men

*Medical Certificate is required to compete & Must be turned in before weigh-ins

*Weights classes are listed but subject to change depending on registration to maximize matches

A (1991-2000)

B (1983-1990)

C* (1975-1982)

D* (1967-1974)

E* (1959-1966)

F* (1950-1958)

Weight Classes: 58kg, 62 kg, 70 kg, 78 kg, 88 kg, 100 kg, 130 kg

*Weight Classes are listed but can be combined to allow athletes to get matches
 

*Medical certificate is required to compete in Master’s C, D, E, & F and must be turned in during weigh-ins. It must be filled out within 90 days of competition
