Competition shall be governed by the 2024-25 NFHS Wrestling Rules Book, with the latest USAWKS modifications. This means:
 

• Takedowns are worth 3 points.
   
• Near falls can ordinarily be worth 2, 3, or 4 points, and 5 points if if the referee stops the action due to the defensive wrestler bleeding or indicating an injury after a 4-point near fall has been earned.
   
• Wrestlers are inbounds with only one point of contact of either wrestler inside or on the boundary line.

As a USA Wrestling Kansas sanctioned event, the KC Frontier Feud requires all wrestlers to wear headgear when competing.

Verbal or physical child abuse will not be tolerated, and may be grounds for expulsion from the tournament with no refund. The tournament director has final authority without appeal in all such matters.
