Legends Event CenterBracketing Guidelines
Double-elimination line-bracketing with complete wrestle-backs to sixth (6th) place, including True 2nd Place matches if 2nd Place and 3rd Place have not already wrestled in the tournament.
Weights are subject to be combined by the tournament director
Weight classes with five (5) wrestlers or fewer will wrestle in a Round Robin format.
Brackets will NOT be seeded. Wrestlers will be separated by state, region, and club wherever possible.
BRACKET CHANGES WILL BE MADE UP UNTIL 1 HOUR PRIOR TO THE START OF THE WRESTLING SESSION. Please contact the tournament director with any issues (ie: wrestler missing from bracket or incorrect weight) prior to the start of the wrestling session by coming to the head table.
General Tournament/Uniform Rules
National Federation of State High School Association scoring rules with USA Wrestling modifications will govern the competition. These USA Wrestling modifications include the following:
Headgear is NOT MANDATORY & is OPTIONAL for all competitors (All Youth & All High School)
Mouthguards are NOT required for wrestlers (even wrestlers with braces)
Rest time in between matches is a minimum of 15 minutes
A match can NOT be started when a wrestler does not have a coach
The three-quarter nelson with leg hook is LEGAL in USAW Folkstyle Events
The double armbar is LEGAL. However, once the wrestler sits out with it, then it becomes ILLEGAL
Novice Division is a 1st-year wrestler or a 2nd-year wrestler with no wrestling match of any style, anywhere, prior to March 15th, 2022
Singlets with under briefs or a two-piece uniform are required. Guidelines for the two-piece uniforms are as follows: wrestlers can wear compression or board shorts and a tight-fitting shirt. The shorts shall not be excessively baggy or have pockets, buttons, or snaps.
NO Singlets that are the property of a High School may be worn for competition.
