WEIGH-INS

WEIGH-IN PROCEDURES: ATHLETES MUST BRING A PHSYCIAL COPY OF THEIR USA WRESTLING MEMBERSHIP CARD IN ORDER TO RECORD THE WEIGHT AT THE SCALE. A SCREENSHOT ON YOUR MOBILE DEVICE IS ACCEPTABLE.

An athlete competing in two styles may weigh in once for both styles. This is contingent on the athlete actively competing in the first of two wrestling styles scheduled. Athletes competing in one style must weigh in at the official weigh-in for that style. Each athlete will be allowed two consecutive attempts to make weight and may not leave the weigh-in area. The second attempt will take place at the LAST CHANCE SCALE in the weigh-in area. All wrestlers must be dressed in a COMPETITION SINGLET for weigh-ins and no weight allowance is given for the singlet.

After your athlete weighs-in, you will receive an email through your USA wrestling membership email with your athlete’s weight from the scale. Please confirm your athlete’s weight, if there is any issues please contact the event director or report to the head table ASAP. Check your junk email if you did not receive an email.

Any wrestler(s) who fails to comply will not be allowed to weigh in, thus will also not be allowed to compete:

  • Scratch weight for all divisions, No Allowance
  • Athlete must weigh-in wearing an unaltered competition singlet.
  • If you miss weight, athletes are automatically moved up without penalty.
  • Wrestlers must have a current USA Wrestling card to scan at the scale in order for officials to input the correct weight.
  • Parents/coaches cannot accompany the wrestlers in weigh-in location.
  • No Weight reduction practices shall be allowed once weigh-ins begin.
  • Athletes must be present in a COMPETITION SINGLET and must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in. The chief medical officer has full authority without appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete.

Once an athlete enters the weigh-in area they have two (2) consecutive attempts to make weight.  If they are over after the two (2) consecutive attempts then they will have option to move up a weight class if there is a higher weight class within their respective division.  Athletes are not allowed to leave the weigh-in area. All wrestlers must be dressed in a COMPETITION SINGLET for weigh-ins and no weight allowance is given for the singlet.

Weigh-in Procedures

1. A current USA WRESTLING card needs to be shown at the scale. Athletes are allowed to weigh-in once provided that they actively compete in each consecutive style. (If an athlete misses weight they can attempt to reclassify for next style during that styles scheduled weigh-in time.)

2. No weight reduction practices are allowed once weigh-ins have begun.

3. Wrestlers should only have a competition singlet on when entering the weigh-in area. They must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in. The chief medical officer has full authority without appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete. Parents/coaches cannot accompany the wrestlers. They will not be allowed to carry additional clothing or anything other than the USA Membership verification with them during weigh-ins.
