Video Review for Nationals Duals

The first place dual meet of the 14U, 16U, Junior boys and Girls National Duals shall utilize video review that is consistent with procedures during individual national championships.

16U Duals Seeding Criteria:

Teams will be placed in pools based on the seeding criteria as defined in the USAW National Dual Policies.

Team leaders and coaches are strongly encouraged to review all the information presented in the USAW National Dual Policies. 

All exhibition matches will be wrestled at the end of each dual meet, if time permits.

All matches shall consist of 2-2 minute periods

If possible, the top sixteen teams will be seeded into pools using the seeding criteria below. All other teams will be placed according to draw number and/or as listed below under “Pairing and Competition Procedures.

Team seeding is based on a style-specific point system. Using the highest
points only, one rating per athlete is permitted. One point will be deducted from the scoring criteria for athletes who earned their points in the opposite style in which they are competing (i.e., a Greco-Roman National Champion loses one point from his/her seeding criteria when competing in freestyle).

Seeding points will autopopulate as each athlete is entered into the USAWmembership system. Coaches must verify seeding information after they enter their team roster online. If you think points are missing or incorrect please contact Christina Hargrove at chargrove@usawrestling.org)

Coaches must indicate in which style the athlete has attained scoring
status. (i.e. Junior National Champion – Freestyle or Junior National Champion – Greco-Roman)

Falsification of seeding criteria will result in forfeiture of team placement.

Only the top 17 scoring athletes for 14U and 16U and top 15
scoring athletes for Juniors listed on the online entry form will be counted in the criteria. No more than two wrestlers per weight may score points.

16U Scoring Criteria:

1. Junior National Champion                                        5 points
2. 16U National Champion                                           5 points
3. UWW 16U National Champion                                 5 points
4. Junior National Place Winner                                   3 points
5. 16U National Place Winner                                      3 points
6. UWW 16U National Place Winner                            3 points
7. 14U/girl National Champion                                      3 points
8. Current Year 16U Regional Champion                      2 points
9. Current Year Junior Regional Champion                   2 points
10. Current Year 16U Regional 2nd-3rd Place                1 point
11. Current Year Junior Regional Place Winner              1 point

              *= A festival held at a regional championships does not meet criteria.
