The 2019-2020 Membership Year begins September 1st, 2019 and goes through August 31, 2020. 

 

USA WRESTLING ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP

All athletes who meet age group requirements, any existing state qualifying procedures and are current members of USA Wrestling are eligible to participate.

Athletes MUST present proof of current USA Wrestling Membership Card (actual card or photo copy) at registration AND weigh-ins. If you do not have a copy of your USA Wrestling Membership Card, please contact your State Membership Director prior to the event. It is mandatory that you provide your USA Wrestling Membership Card Number when participating at all USA Wrestling events in order for your results to be correctly linked to the Kids National Team website (click HERE for more information). USA Wrestling Athlete Membership Cards can be acquired from the State Chairperson or State Membership Director of the contestant's state of residence or online (click HERE). Secondary sports accident insurance is provided as a benefit of membership. 

 ALL UWW Division are open only to U.S. citizens eligible to represent the United States at the World Championships. Athletes MUST be a U.S. citizen prior to the start of this event.

Transgender Policy

USA Wrestling deems it necessary to ensure, insofar as possible, that transgender athletes are not excluded from the opportunity to participate in wrestling competitions. As such, USA Wrestling’s Gender Policy is based on the results and guidelines of the IOC actions.

Please read the transgender policy document in its entirety in order to understand the guidelines USA Wrestling follows in regards to transgender athletes competing at USA Wrestling events. 

 

USA WRESTLING LEADER MEMBERSHIP

All coaches that wish to gain access to the competition floor to coach athletes must have a current USA Wrestling Leader Membership Card. All USA Wrestling Leader Membership Cards MUST be attained prior to the event, due to mandatory background checking. For a USA Wrestling Leader Membership Card Card, please click HEREPLEASE ALLOW UP TO 30 DAYS FOR COMPLETION OF USAW LEADER MEMBERSHIP/BACKGROUND CHECK PROCESS.

Tours and Camps

UWW JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Champions qualify to represent the United States at the 2020 UWW Junior World Championships. TRAINING AND CAMP SCHEDULE FOR UWW JUNIORS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

UWW CADET CHAMPIONSHIPS: Champions qualify to represent the United States at the 2020 UWW Cadet World Championships.

If the champion in any weight class of the UWW Junior or UWW Cadet division chooses not to participate in the World Championships, the second place finisher shall have the option to train for and compete in the World Championships. This process shall continue until a representative for the World Team is determined in each UWW weight class. Participants in all non-UWW weight classes contested at the Women's National Championships are ineligible for World Team selection. Information regarding the UWW Junior and UWW Cadet World Championships and UWW Junior and UWW Cadet Pan American Championships will be provided by USA Wrestling's National Team coaches upon the completion of the event.

QUALIFICATION

UWW Cadet Division: Top eight (8) place winners at this event qualify for your state's 16U national teams (above the state limit) in the style in which you qualify. This is only for athletes born in 2003 or 2005. Athletes born in 2002 do not qualify for their 16U national team. Athletes must still adhere to all state policies and you qualify in the style in which you place. The Junior & 16U National Championships will be held in Fargo, ND, from July 17-24. Also, the champion in each UWW Cadet weight class qualifies to represent the United States at the 2020 UWW Cadet World Championships.

UWW Junior Division: Top eight (8) place winners at this event qualify for your state's Junior national teams (above the state limit) in the style in which you qualify; provided the athlete meets the age and grade requirement for Junior Nationals.  Athletes must still adhere to all state policies and you qualify in the style in which you place. The Junior & 16U National Championships will be held in Fargo, ND, from July 17-24.
