NOVICE Division:

Wrestlers must arrive and check-in by 7:00 am. Any wrestler not checked in by 7:30 will be scratched without a refund.  

Wrestling will begin at 8:00 am SHARP!

OPEN & GIRLS Divisions: 

Wrestlers must arrive and check-in by 12:00 pm. Any wrestler not checked in by 12:30pm will be scratched without a refund.  

Wrestling will begin at 1:00 pm SHARP!

ENTRY FEE: 

$45 (registration cut-off is December 6th, or sooner if we hit capacity)

Novice: 5-Man Round Robin

Weigh-ins

Thursday  - December 10, 2026 - Faith Christian Academy - 5:30 to 7:00 pm

*Satellite weigh-in locations will be approved as we get closer to the event

*All Wrestlers must weigh-in (Novice, Girls, Open)

AGE DIVISIONS: 

Novice: 6U, 8U, 10, 12U (please see novice classification information below)

Open & Girls: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U

WEIGHT & AGE  CHALLENGES:

Weight: Any weight challenges by a coach (not a parent) will require both kids to step on the scales. Age: Challenger & challenged must provide proof of age (bring a copy of wrestler’s birth certificate).

FORMAT: 

Blind-Seeding  

Silent Format (wrestlers will be wrestling on the same mat the entire day)

AWARDS: 

1st place: Lions Head Sculpture

2nd and 3rd place: Trophies

Applies to novice, open, and girls wrestlers

Coaches/Adults: $10.00

NOVICE  

CLASSIFICATION:

For this tournament, NOVICE is any wrestler who has not placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in an open tournament. Any wrestler who has placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in an open tournament is not eligible to  participate as a novice. Wrestlers with more than 2 years of experience should wrestle in the OPEN  division.

RULES:

National Federation and PIAA rules will govern all matches except as follows: 

• All bouts will consist of three 1-minute (1:00) periods, except 14U matches, which will consist of three 1-and-a-half-minute (1:30) periods.

• Overtime: one-minute sudden death followed by a 30-second ride-out period.
