Event Details

• This event is a Freestyle/Greco combo tournament where all athletes compete in both styles. INCLUDES GIRLS DIVISION! 
• See below for all details or on the corresponding menu tabs.
• Registration: Participants MUST register and compete in both styles and must be pre-registered by 8pm on 4/12. Registration will close at 8pm on 4/12 and no late registrations will be allowed. 
• There will be a limit on # of registered wrestlers of 350 participants. 
• Cost is $34 per wrestler (and includes registration across both the Greco tournament (morning) and Freestyle tournament (afternoon). Must check-in in the morning and attend Greco to also compete in Freestyle.
• Divisions: USA Co-ed Divisions 6U-Juniors + Girls Divisions for 6U-Juniors as well
• Membership Required: A current USA card is needed to register and participate at the tournament
• Pre-registration only available through USA Bracketing only. Click Register Now on the main page or Registration Info tab. Create an account in USA Bracketing if you do not have one already and add your wrestler information. If you have an existing account, choose your wrestler to register. Be sure to enter their actual weight to be used in case of a weight audit (see weigh-in tab for more information - cannot be more than 3% above the weight entered or will be scrateched from the tourney). Be sure to complete payment to ensure registration is complete. 
• NO REGISTRATION REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS FOR ANY REASON!

Schedule: 

• Doors will open at 7:15am. 
• Check in: 7:30am-8:30am for BOTH styles. All wrestlers must check-in for the tournament and be pre-registered by 8pm on Saturday, April 12th. No registrations allowed after this point in time. If any wrestler is a no-show by 8:30am for Greco, you will be scratched from the tournament for both Greco & Freestyle. See weigh-in tab for more details on weigh-in process/rules.
• Session 1 - Greco will begin at approximately 9:00am.
• Session 2 - Freestyle will begin approximately 15 min after Greco session/tourney is completed.

Skin Checks & Weigh-Ins

• Skin checks will be performed on all wrestlers.
• This tournament will not feature full weigh-ins. Only "weight audits" will occur for a selection of randomly selected wrestlers. A "madison weight" bracketing format will be used where entrants enter their actual weight to be used for bracketing to make a 3-4 person bracket of wrestlers similar age group/weight entered. There will be sampling of wrestlers selected to be "weight audited". If selected for weight audit, the wrestler must be no more than ~3% above registered weight or scratched from the event (no refunds granted). You may edit/change your weight entered in USA Bracketing up until the registration deadline of 8pm on 4/12.
• This process is identical to the weight audit process and protocol in place at all MN/USA Folkstyle Qualifier/Open tournaments during the 2024-25 season, except there is 1 combined session for all age groups.

Format:  Wrestlers will be bracketed in 4-man round-robin groups by registration weight when possible

Facility Features & Hospitality:

• Seating: Limited seating will be available with some bleacher seating and a limited amount of matside chairs. Wrestlers and families are allowed to bring in their own lawn/camping chairs (if desired) as well to view matches in the gym. Commons/Cafeteria area seating will be available for families to congregate in between matches and sessions.
• Concessions: A "light" concession stand will be open during the day with drinks, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and some candy items. 
• Food Vendors: A local collection of food vendors will be available during the event including Elephant Joe's Coffee (inside) and Sweet Winks Food Truck will be available during the lunchtime hours outside the main entrance.
• Wrestlers/families may bring their own food/drink items as necessary.

Admissions

• Admissions cost for spectators will be $10 for adults and $5 for students (> age 5) and seniors (65 or older). Children 5 and under will be admitted for free. 
• Coaches with a current USA Wrestling Leader Membership will be allowed into the event for free.
• Payment options will include cash, Venmo, debit/credit card and Apple Pay

Awards

• Awards will be given to all participants (1st - 4th) across both styles.

Referees

• Similar to other MN/USA Freestyle/Greco open tournaments on the 2024-25 schedule, there is a small pool of certified USAW certified referee officials working each tournament. For any 16U/Junior age wrestlers wishing to referee or referee/compete, a referee training program will be utilized as well to augment the pool of USAW certified referees with supervision and training onsite. Officials are paid roles, so inquire with tournament director, Jeff Katherman (jdkatherman@gmail.com), if interested in applying for one of these roles.
