IMPORTANT NOTE!

At USA Wrestling Regional and National Championships, coaching credentials will only be issued to Wrestling Leader members at least 18 years of age who meet the appropriate NCEP certification requirement.  Minors accompanying credentialed coaches will not be allowed on the competition floor. 

Coaches' floor passes will be for those who meet the following criteria.

Regionals & Nationals
  1. Show a current USAW Wrestling Leader Photo ID
  2. 14U & Below – Copper Certification is required or
      16U & Above – Bronze Certification is required
  3. Proof of online purchase of the tournament
      Coaching Credentials (On-Site cost = $50.00)
  4. Pick up Credentials at RCTC during weigh-ins.

COACHES MUST PURCHASE COACHES PASS ONLINE PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

$0.00 Coaches with Silver and Gold certification

Coaches' credentials will be printed out prior to the event. Coaches may pick up floor pass credentials at the tournament during weigh-ins. Look for the “COACHES CREDENTIALS” table.  Coaches must present proof of this purchase and a valid USAW Wrestling Leader membership photo ID showing NCEP CERTIFICATION.

Failure to purchase your coaching pass online before Tuesday, 5/7/24 at 11:59 PM will result in a coaching floor pass increasing to $50.00 no matter what the coaching certification.
 

IT USUALLY TAKES 10-14 DAYS FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE USAW LEADER MEMBERSHIP/BACKGROUND CHECK PROCESS.

COACHES AND ATHLETES MUST HAVE A COPY OF THEIR USAW PHOTO ID MEMBERSHIP CARD WITH YOU TO THE EVENT. 

Once certified coach maximum is allowed in each competitor's corner. To videotape any match on the mat side, the operator must be the certified coach in the corner. Only coaches with a current USAW Leader Membership Card AND who are USAW NCEP certified are entitled to free admission (does not include floor access).

Kids Coaches: Floor passes will only be issued to those individuals with a current USAW Leader Membership Card and are a minimum USAW NCEP COPPER certified (photo I.D. required).

Junior and 16U Coaches: Floor passes will only be issued to those individuals with a current USAW Leader Membership Card and are a minimum USAW NCEP BRONZE certified (photo I.D. required). 

If you have a Bronze Coaches Certification, you do not need to buy a Copper Coaches Certification!  It is, however, beneficial to complete the Copper Certification that focuses on coaching 14U and younger athletes.

How do I earn a Copper or Bronze level coaches certification?

To become a USA Wrestling Bronze level certified coach. Please contact USA Wrestling's Manager of National Coaches Education Program, Mike Clayton, at mclayton@usawrestling.org or click here

Once a coach has their Wrestling Leader Membership with USA Wrestling, they can take the Copper or Bronze level coaches certifications through their membership profile at www.USAWmembership.com.

To purchase, access the course options under the top tab for MANAGE, followed by COACH CERTIFICATIONS in the drop-down.

ADD the desired course to the shopping cart and then check out and pay the course fee.

Once the fee is paid, courses can be accessed under the MY COURSES tab.

As soon as a course is finished, the coach’s profile is updated automatically in our system.

We will send the coach a free new membership card that reflects the certification in about 3 to 4 weeks.

For coaches who need proof of certification sooner, they’ll be able to re-print a membership card from their profile reflecting all current certifications. Any online registration system will see the coach’s certifications as well.

Coaches who have earned both Copper and Bronze level certifications automatically qualify to start Silver level tasks. These tasks can be accessed from the same course area as the Copper and Bronze program. Some really great opportunities at this level!
