Burrillville Lightning Wrestling Club - RIWA Youth Wrestling Tournament

Registration Info 

Absolutely NO walk in registrations (except Mighty Mites). All registration MUST be completed by 10PM the night before the scheduled event.

Mighty Mites are in person registration at the venue, please arrive by 8:00 AM. Fee is $10 CASH

Door Fee

$5 for Adults

***Coaching Requirements***

As of January 1st, 2026, new RIWA rules state that all RI coaches must maintain an ACTIVE USAW Wrestling Leadership and have at least completed the COPPER coaching certification in order to coach during ANY RI tournaments. Wristbands will be provided to all coaches that show their coaches card with the proper certification at the tournament entry.

Out of state coaches are excluded from this rule, but must still provide a hard copy of their ACTIVE USA Wrestling leadership card. 

Entry Fee will NOT be waived unless the proper cards are provided upon entry. No coach will be allowed on the mats without a VISIBLE wristband. If the wristband is not visible, you may be asked to leave the mat and a risk forfeiting the current match.

Parking 

When entering the uphill driveway, bear to the left at the top. The Athletic Entrance will be the last door on the right. You may park anywhere in the lot adjacent to the Athletic Entrance. If this lot is full, follow the roadway past the turf field on your right, take a left at the stop sign onto Whipple Ave. At the end of Whipple Ave, turn left and take your next left back into the Burrillvile High School entrance. At the top of the hill, bear right, where you will find additional parking in front of the Main Entrance and the right side of the building. 

Weigh In 

All wrestlers must weigh-in wearing competition singlets or shorts at RIWA events.  

Skin check / grooming check prior to being allowed to weigh-in 

Reminder to trim fingernails before you step on scales.

Age Groups & Times 

8U Boys, 10U Boys, 12U Girls, and 15U Girls Divisions 

Weigh-ins - 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM 

Wrestling Starts at 9:00 AM 

12U Boys, 15U Boys, 8U Girls, and 10U Girls Divisions 

Weigh-ins - 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM 

Wrestling Starts at 12:30 PM 

Awards 

Once brackets are closed, awards are available from 1st - 3rd, team awards for AM and PM. Medals can be collected in the BHS Auditorium.
