Tournament Overview: The 2025 Waconia "Ken Bach Memorial" MN/USA Tournament has something for everyone this year, and we are looking forward to hosting a great event for both wrestlers, families and fans!
Tournament Divisions: This year's event will feature 3 different divisions for entry. Participants CAN double register if they'd like, so as long as each division does not conflict with competition during the same session. See the "Schedule" tab for the session/schedule for each division.
- Co-Ed MN/USA Waconia Folkstyle State Qualifier / Open Division: Features 6U (qualifier), 8U (qualifier), 10U (qualifier), 12U (qualifier) and 14U (open) divisions.
- Participants across the co-ed qualifier 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U divisions will accrue qualification points toward qualification for MN/USA Regionals (for 10U and 12U) and MN/USA State (for 6U & 8U). All 14U participants are auto-qualified to the MN/USA Regional tournaments.
- Participants in this division will also accumulate "REPS" points, with the top 10 in each age group awarded at the MN/USA banquet (in the Fall of 2025).
- Girls Only Division: Features all age groups (6U, 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U) for all skill levels for girls.
- All our girls divisions will bracket and separate based on skill/experience whenever possible.
- Participants in this division will NOT accumulate regional or state qualification points, but WILL accrue points towards REPS awards for Girls division awards.
- Participants in this division, if they do not have already an annual ($60) USAW card membership, you are allowed to participate via the "Take a Shot" promotion and buy a 1 day ($10) trial membership to see what MN/USA and USAW are all about. You do not need to be a current MN/USA Wrestling member to participate! Please visit our website here Take A Shot for more information!
- Co-Ed "Beginners Bash" Division
- NEW this year! Waconia Wrestling Club and MN/USA will be offering a brand new "Beginner's Bash" division this year as we continue to try to grow the sport of wrestling to increase competition opportunities for our newer/less experienced wrestlers.
- Participants in this division will NOT accumulate regional or state qualification points or points towards REPS awards, as this division is purely for fun and to gain experience.
- The purpose of this division is to allow a space and time for beginner wrestlers (with limited experience in competition and the sport in general) to start their own journey in competing at wrestling tournaments. Each Beginner Co-Ed division event will not feature any qualification points and are being created to enable less experienced wrestlers to gain experience vs. kids with similar skill levels.
- RULES FOR ENTRY INTO EACH MN/USA BEGINNER BASH TOURNAMENT: The overall goal/intent of the beginners divisions is to match up wrestlers with little to no experience together to help acclimate our newer kids into the realm of competition.
- A. 1st or 2nd year wrestlers (not winning any state titles)
- B. 3rd year wrestlers are welcome if they haven’t competed in any regional, state or national tournaments in the past
- C. Tournament Directors will have final discretion to review entries and for overall governance of these division entries
- D. Coaches should also review tournament entries across their clubs to help ensure the compliance and spirit of the eligibility rules and to help us create a great experience for these events. The tournament director/tournament operations director will review entries toward compliance of these rules and reserve the right to remove wrestlers from the tourrnament - without refund - if a wrestler does not fit the above criteria.
